Gonzalo Andrew Penaranda was born in Queens, New York. Moved as a youth to Ft. Lauderdale, Fl in 1992. Attended
Broward College with an Art Major thereafter attending Florida International University. Currently resides in Miami Beach, FL.
Art has always been a strong force in his life. Starting with grafitti in New York to pop, modern, surrealism, photography and neo-expressionism later in life. The artist draws from his travels around the globe along with his past/ present in his artistic expression. Cities included like Paris, Berlin, London. Barcelona, Osaka, Bangkok, Phuket, Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Bogota, Cartagena, Mexico City and Buenos Aires.
His works are mostly but not limited to acrylic on canvas, glass, wood and photograhpy
Artist Statement.
My work is an expression of my life experiences and continues to evolve from year to year and series to series. From subjects like portraits, women, children, photographs etc, the goal is to find their ultimate truth or purest form. My belief that the best comes from striving to break boundaries and myself in my work is hopefully evident.
